Biosketches:
Dr. Haim Shore is professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. He received degrees in Industrial Engineering (BSc) and Operations Research (MSc), both from the Technion, and his Ph.D degree in Statistics from the Bar-Ilan University, Israel. He also has first and second degrees in Philosophy and Psychology. In 1993-4 he was a visitor at the Center for Quality and Productivity Improvement, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and in 2002-3 he was a visitor at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, McMaster University, Canada. Shore’s interests include quality and reliability engineering, stochastic modeling and simulation and distributional theory. He was until recently an Associate Editor for Communications in Statistics and is currently on the editorial boards of IIE Transactions (Quality&Reliability Eng.), Quality Engineering and the International Journal of Operations and Quantitative Management (IJOQM). Dr. Shore authored or co-authored five books, the most recent of which (“Response Modeling Methodology”) was published last year (2005) by World Scientific of Singapore. He is listed in Who's Who in the World (Marquis Who's Who, Inc.).
