AIRPORTS/GROUND TRANSPORT:
We recommend flying into the Atlanta Airport (in Georgia) and taking the professional shuttle/van from the airport to Auburn. See I-85 SHUTTLE INFORMATION while making travel arrangements. We will also arrange for special pick-ups for those scheduled for late arrival (other pick-ups are also indicated below).

Late Arrival (van pick-up) Schedule (Night/Date/Time), the time indicated is the time the driver will begin gathering riders. Actual departure time will be after the last person arrives (all pick-up arrangements should have been privately communicated individually by now) : Friday, July 20, 9:20p.m. (EST, Departure time 10:00pm) Saturday, July 21, 9:20p.m. (EST, Departure time 10:00pm) Sunday, July 22, 9:20p.m. (EST, departure time 10pm)

Instructions for pick-up: Unless you have been told otherwise about pick-ups in a personal e-mail correspondence.  The IWSM volunteers will be in the same area as the Express 85 area. Therefore, the directions are identical: Upon Arrival at the Atlanta Airport: 1. Proceed to the North Terminal or "Blue" Baggage Claim area 2. Follow the airport signs to Parking Levels 1 & 2 and Greyhound Flightlink 3. Follow the corridor through the double doors outside. The Express 85 Airport Shuttle will be located along this curbside for pick-up.　 At the designated times, the conference vans will be there to supplement, but not replace the Express 85 shuttle.  We can only handle 5 passengers at a time so IWSM van service is  a courtesy service for those with long waiting times for the 85Express shuttle.  Courtesy IWSM Van Departure times (volunteers will arrive approximately one-hour before the departure times): Friday, July 20, you should have been contacted directly for instructions. Saturday, July 21, 2:30, 4:30, 7:30, 10:00p.m. (EST)

IMPORTANT GROUND TRANSPORT MESSAGE: We are in the process of scheduling private van pick-ups for those who cannot be accommodated by the Airport Shuttles (see the I-85 Express, http://www.express85.com/), i.e., late arrivals. The scheduled times for airport shuttle departures (I-85 Express) are on three hour intervals, starting at 9:30a.m. (9:30am, 12:30pm, 3:30pm, 6:30pm, and

9:30pm) on all days. For us to determine the optimal or needful pick-up times, please send an  e-mail to carpedm@auburn.edu with your airport arrival date and time (as well as Auburn departure). IMPORTANT: please make sure that the words "GROUND TRANSPORT" are in the Subject line of your reply e-mail. We will use this list to keep track of everyone to make sure you made it to Auburn safe and sound.

Meanwhile, we ask that you be sure to BOOK/RESERVE your round-trip passage with I-85 Express (airport shuttle) immediately, to insure your round trip passage. Note: Atlanta is over 110 miles north of Auburn, so it is an inconvenience for the traveler regardless of method. We know some of you are coming a long, long, way, so we understand this is not a trivial matter.　

We will inform you of any private van pick-up schedules after I have a significant number of replies from you all. For those of you can not catch the shuttle or need special arrangements, please immediately reply.

 

Conference Rate (before March 15, 2007) at the Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center: $99/night
Hotel reservations can not be guaranteed after April 30, 2007.  All conference participants are requested to stay at the conference Hotel listed here. Most of the conference activities will be hosted at this location and transportation to and from this hotel from another can not be guaranteed.
